At Holy Cross, we are committed to antiracism and understand that it requires more than just words. It is a journey of self-reflection, education, and action. Recently, we organized our own “Together in Mission,” facilitated by Dr. Joyce Caldwell and Pastor Marilyn Miller. Our leadership, staff, and teams came together to assess our congregation’s identity and stance on antiracism. This learning process involved role-playing, discussions, and introspection, and we engaged in planning how our teams will help lead this work.
During the event, we explored how our faith intersects with antiracism work. We recognized that combating racism is integral to living out the teachings of Christ. We shared personal stories, opening up a dialogue between team members. Our teams left the event with a newfound perspective, equipped to continue the vital work of antiracism.
As we move forward, we are determined to continue this journey and actively shape a fair and inclusive church. We understand that our mission entails more than just acknowledging the past. We are committed to being an antiracist church guided by the principles of love, compassion, and faith. We are grateful for the dedication of our teams, staff, and leadership in advancing this mission.
