Stephen Ministry

Equips and empowers lay caregivers, called  Stephen Ministers, to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting. It is a one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in our congregation that uses the Stephen Series system.  Please find the attached document for more information. Join us in fellowship and worship with our partner church Hephatha Lutheran Church. We are always looking for volunteers to help serve. Carpool options are available.

The Healing Network

The Healing Network is a ministry with other congregations in the greater Milwaukee area that confront addiction in our communities. It focuses on compassion and acknowledgment of addictions, abuses, and stressors. Healing Network Mission Statement Holy Cross serves our congregation and community with compassion and acknowledgment of addictions, abuses, and stressors. We will be an authentic and inclusive community and a network for healing.

Share Our Best

We all have gifts to share. The Sharing Our Best Program allows us to provide quality furniture to families in need. Milwaukee has a serious poverty problem.  Many families do not have beds for their children. Holy Cross volunteers locate gently used furniture, collect it from donors, and store it until Hephatha finds a family in need. Lastly, Holy Cross coordinates with their volunteers, who use their trailers, vans, and trucks to deliver the furniture. We are a group of…

Kitchen Angels

Our Kitchen Angels are a ‘welcoming’ group that blesses post-worship times with fellowship that includes coffee and treats, cares for a grieving family with a meal, and pitches in with good old-fashioned hospitality during many church events.

LIT HAPPENS: Book Club

We are excited to announce the formation of a new book club called “Lit Happens”. Beginning Monday, October 2, and continuing on the first Monday of the month thereafter there will be a morning and evening session. We’ll gather to read/discuss literature across all genres. This is not a Bible study. Through this group, we hope to gain a greater understanding of books and their authors as well as forge new relationships. Everyone is welcome.
