We are excited to announce the formation of a new book club called “Lit Happens”. Beginning Monday, October 2, and continuing on the first Monday of the month thereafter there will be a morning and evening session. We’ll gather to read/discuss literature across all genres. This is not a Bible study. Through this group, we hope to gain a greater understanding of books and their authors as well as forge new relationships. Everyone is welcome. Holy Cross has graciously offered to provide support, but you don’t have to be a member to join our group.

The book Selection the morning session is “My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You I’m Sorry” by Fredrik Backman. The book for the second session is “The Scarlet Sky” by Mark Sullivan.

Peggy Coniff will facilitate the first meeting, but all will have the opportunity to facilitate future meetings and offer book suggestions.

Before each meeting, we plan social time for the first half hour, to get to know each other. For the morning sessions, feel free to bring your lunch. The study itself will begin promptly on the hour and are an hour long.

Please consider joining us. We’d love to see you.

For more information and/or to sign up please email Deacon Ellie at ellies@holycrosslutheran.org or by calling the church office and asking for Deacon Ellie.
