Karen Heins

As Assistant Minister of Music, Karen leads and directs the Celebration band, and children’s choir, and assists in choirs in a way that proclaims the Gospel, glorifies God, and enhances worship. 

Bio

Karen Heins grew up as a daughter of a pastor. She’s lived in New York State, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.  She graduated from Stritch University in Milwaukee with a B.S. in Music Education with an emphasis on Vocal and General Music.  She came to Holy Cross in the fall of 1995 to play for Saturday night services.  She’s had various duties here at Holy Cross including directing an adult choir and children’s choir, and the director of the Celebration Band.  She loves to lead all types of worship, and all genres of music. She also enjoys working with all ages of people. 

aBOUT

Karen is married to Keith, and together, they have 6 adult children (5 of which have significant others) and 4 grandchildren.  She is a member and section leader of the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus and enjoys singing in other avenues as well.  She is a music teacher at Valley View Elementary School here in the Falls. She is a Packer, Brewer, and NASCAR fan.
